A Legacy Built on Toughness & Pride
Since opening its doors in 1963, Ernest Righetti High School has built one of the Central Coast's most respected and tradition-rich football programs. For more than six decades, Warrior Football has been defined by toughness, discipline, and a relentless work ethic, earning numerous league championships, consistent playoff appearances, and a reputation as one of the premier public school football programs in the region. Through multiple eras of success and under the leadership of dedicated coaches, generations of Warriors have proudly represented their school and community while fueling one of California's longest-standing rivalries with neighboring St. Joseph High School.
The legacy of Righetti Football extends far beyond the scoreboard. The program has developed countless student-athletes who have continued their careers at NCAA programs across every level of college football, while producing professional players who reached the NFL. More importantly, Warrior Football has become synonymous with developing leaders of character, emphasizing accountability, perseverance, teamwork, and pride in representing the purple and gold. Today, under Head Coach Russ Pickett and his staff, the program continues to honor its rich tradition while building a culture focused on excellence in the classroom, on the field, and within the Orcutt and Santa Maria communities—ensuring that the Warrior legacy will continue for generations to come.
